DIRECTIONS FOR PORTFOLIO ENTRIES
For each art project you complete in this class, you will be filling out a portfolio entry. This collection should not only display what you’ve made in class, but should also reflect the growth you’ve made as an artist.
PLEASE KEEP ALL OF THESE IN YOUR PORTFOLIO UNTIL THE END OF THE CLASS.
REQUIREMENTS for each entry:
Everything must be written in complete sentences.
1.
Your name, period and the name of the project.
2.
A sketch/picture of your project if it cannot be attached.
3.
The historical/cultural background of your project.

Your teacher will review this information with you.
4.
A description of your project.

Use exact language. Write as if you are explaining it to someone who cannot

see your project. Underline the key vocabulary words.
5.
The procedure you used.

Teach someone how to make your project. Describe each step you took.

Be specific. Underline the key vocabulary words.
6.
Your evaluation of your work.
a)
Look at the evaluation rubric you have been given. These are the criteria on
which you will be graded.

What is well done on your project? (minimum 3 things)

Where is there room for improvement? (minimum 3 things)
b)
Reflect on these questions:

What was hard for you? How do you feel about the end result? How was your

craftsmanship? How carefully did you follow directions? If you were going to do

this project again, what changes would you make? How could you experiment

with what you learned in this project and try something different?
In addition, keep all written work (e.g. artist notes, quizzes, vocabulary) for your portfolio.
